House-raft Tours on Lake Kariba
Kangamani Tours has created a product for trips on Lake Kariba specifically designed for overland travelers. The trips are conducted utilizing, an open plan boat designed to accommodate up to 16 passengers. The facilities include hot showers, toilets, fully equipped kitchen, refrigerators and beds. The boat is 40 foot long and 16 foot wide and is powered by 2 outboard engines.
The main objective of this design of boat is to make Lake Kariba accessible to foreign and local travelers on a budget. Many of the houseboats operating on the Lake are very expensive or too slow to cruise the whole Lake. We are offering trips of varying length from 3 days to 5 days being the most popular. However longer trips can be arranged if required. We believe this Product will enable many more tourists to include the Lake in their travel itinerary.
The Tour Options
- The tours can be booked by individuals or groups up to 16 in number.
- The minimum number for a cruise is 6.
- The trips can be catered or self-catered and every cruise includes the service of a captain / guide and a chef / boat hand.
- There is a tender boat for fishing and game viewing.
- Tours are generally 3 to 5 days long, but longer tours can be arranged if required.
- Tours can be local or from Binga to Chete / Rhuzi return, or can span the entire Lake from Binga to Kariba or any destination in between.
- Tourists wishing to travel from Victoria Falls to Kariba with a Lake experience as a part of the transfer would find this Product extremely attractive.
- Tours can also be arranged from Binga to Msuna, taking in the Mlibizi Basin and majestic Devils Gorge.
