Kangamani Tours is a tour operator that focuses on holidays on and around the Zambezi River, which includes bookings for houseboats on Lake Kariba, fishing safaris on the Zambezi River above Victoria Falls, out of our base Chundu Island Camp. Package trips include Victoria Falls and Msuna Fishing Resort in the Middle Zambezi. Hunting for the elusive tiger fish and doing so in the most astonishing surrounds.
Lake Kariba
Lake Kariba is one of the world largest man-made lakes, and when it was completed it in fact was the largest. It lies on the Zambezi River which has its source in Northern Zambia, winding through Angola, Zambia, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique before it reaches the Indian Ocean. The Lake is only a small section of this massive river system and is bordered by just Zimbabwe and Zambia. 290 km long and 30 km wide at it’s widest so you can imagine the expanse of water. It is now a thriving ecosystem supporting thousands of species of birds, fish, and animals, as well as humans.
House-raft Tours
This is Kangamani tours unique designed houseboat which is based on teh Middle Zambezi, hired out on a self catering basis it is one of the most affordable houseboats on the Zambezi or Lake Kariba. Complete with kitchen, ablutions with hot water, fridges run on 12 V power, bunks on the upper and lower decks and plenty of storage space. ´Oscar´ is an open style raft, which is totally unique, with rolldown canvas on all sides against foul weather it is completely protected. Powered by 2 60 HP outboard engines it is extremely economical as far as houseboats go. Transfers between Victoria Falls can be arranged.
Traditional Houseboat Tours
This is the traditional way to go on holiday on Lake Kariba. They have all the amenities of a regular house, hot water, kitchen, showers, bathrooms, and individual rooms, or cabins, possible air conditioning for the better ones. We do bookings for various houseboats on Lake Kariba; it all depends on the size of the group and your budget. We also have package deals with other lodges in the area as well.
